Concept design was carried out on this hotel resort project located on its own group of islands in the India Ocean. The character that was requested by our client was sophisticated yet shabby chic, in the context of a long-established fishing village that had been transformed into a hotel resort.

In order to achieve this, a limited palette of hard and soft materials was proposed, the hard consisting of stone, wood, palm thatch and stabilised sand, while the soft consisted of Cocus palms, Pandanus and Scaevola. Iconic and identifiable structural elements were designed to be scattered throughout the resort as viewing decks, retails outlets, and spas within pools. Hidden contemporary elements were also included to provide guests with variety within the overall character of the development.
